Olympus NDT Canada

Olympus NDT designs and manufactures eddy current and ultrasound test systems for manual and automated inspections in nondestructive testing (NDT). These systems are used in many fields of application, in particular the analysis of defects caused by welding, extrusion, and casting, as well as wear and corrosion.

Our broad field of activity includes hydroelectric and thermonuclear power plants, oil refineries, pipelines, aerospace and automobile industries, and all companies that produce homogeneous and composite metal structures.

Products

Nondestructive Testing

Tomoscan Family
TheTomoscan family, with its automated magnetic scanner and Windows data analysis software, offers the complete solution for NDT applications. The Tomoscan, R/D Techs first generation unit is our best selling product with over 250 in the world

Tc Family
With state-of-the-art eddy current hardware and software, fully digital, multi-frequency, multi-channel eddy current instruments designed for high-speed tube testing with powerful reporting software.

Robotics
MCDU-02: Motor controller/driver unit A versatile 2-axis small and lightweight motor drive unit with built-in controller, capable of single-axis, dual-axis scans (comb, raster, or helicoidal scans), and open loop operation (slave). The unit is available with drivers for either DC servo motor or stepper motor. The MCDU-02 interfaces with standard PCs and may be used with all R/D Tech acquisition systems (Tomoscan, Tomoscan II, Tomoscan, TC4700, TC5700, TC5700) and various R/D Tech scanners (TRAKER, ROVER, and R/D Tech immersion tanks). ROVER magnetic scanner A magnetic pipe scanner for inspections on flat or curved surfaces. The scanner is capable of single or dual-axis scans with up to 8 transducers. The moving axis of ROVER is position-encoded for feedback to the data acquisition system for proper imaging of the collected data. Custom length arms may be ordered, in addition to the three standard lengths. ROVER interfaces to standard PCs through the MCDU-02 and may be used with Tomoscan II, Tomoscan, or any of R/D Tech eddy current products. TRAKER magnetic scanner A 4-wheel-drive self-aligning magnetic scanner, capable of line scan or raster scan inspections on flat or curved surfaces following a mechanical or magnetic track. A built-in CPU-based controller and a pair of Hall-effect magnetic sensors allow the scanner to accurately track a magnetic strip. Installation only requires laying down the magnetic strip at a fixed distance from the weld line and moving TRAKER until the sensors are over the strip. No extra guiding rails are required.

Probes
ProbesR/D Tech manufactures different types of probes such as: IRIS, motorized probe for profilometry or crack detection, multi-element probe for fast tube inspection, multi-element probe for tank-floor scanning or surface scanning.
