North Star Flow Products is a private, Canadian-owned and operated corporation which manufactures and distributes its own line of orifice equipment. North Star in order to provide their customers with an orifice line of high quality and strict tolerances. North Star's fittings complement Barber's line of measurement and control equipment.
North Star equipment is used to measure and control both gases and fluids. The company manufactures both single and dual chamber fittings, in either flange-by-weld or complete metre runs. The fittings are available in two to four inch sizes, and 150 to 1500 pounds ANSI pressure ratings in sweet, NACE or low temperature applications. As of April 1997, North Star also manufactures a six inch line, available in 150 to 600 pound ratings. North Star also manufactures orifice flanges with metre runs, as well as a wide range of orifice plates. All North Star fittings are built to comply with ASME B.31.3 AGA/API 14.3 specifications. North Star's quality control program adheres to the ISO 9003-87 standard.
Both North Star Flow Products and Barber Engineering and Controls market the North Star line in Canada. It is also marketed and sold to the United States and Mexico through appointed representatives. North Star has also sold its product to interests in Libya, the United Kingdom, Nigeria and Bahrain, and continues to seek overseas representatives for greater international exposure.
North Star Flow Product's head office and plant are located in Edmonton, Alberta. It employs twenty-five people full-time, and has grown to a 16, 800 square-foot facility to meet the increasing demands of the gas industry. North Star continues to manufacture fittings efficiently while maintaining its high standard of quality.
