Tes3 Multistandard Vbi Encoding Platform
Tes5 Multistandard Serial Digital Video Encoder/Inserter
The primary function of the TES5 is the encoding and insertion digital data in the vertical blanking interval (VBI) and/or the active video of a 4:2:2 270 Mbit per second serial digital video television signal. It will operate in both 525 and 625 line environments and any power standard. Like the TES3, software modules are loaded into the TES5 to enable the data modes. Formats supported include high speed data broadcast (NABTS, WST and Japanese) and Closed Captioning (EIA-608B).
With the serial digital decoder which is integrated with the Program Video In, the TES5 can add Closed Captioning data (like V-chip or Extended Data Services) to an existing Line 21 Captioning stream.
And with the addition of the analog decoder integrated with the Auxiliary Analog Video In, the TES5 can also be configured as a data bridge. This allows the TES5 to take data from an analog television signal and insert it or 'bridge' it onto the serial digital channel.
Tes7 Hdtv Vanc Encoder
The TES7 encoder uses the Vertical Ancillary (VANC) data portion of the SMPTE 292M 1.5 Gbps HDTV signal. The VANC is the simplest means of ensuring video, sound and data remain synchronized. By using the TES7 program producers can deliver HD content containing captions, VChip ratings, ATVEF interactive content with the program and a variety of metadata. A TES7 in the video plant provides similar capabilities. Broadcasters can then route, switch and store data with the video and audio ensuring all program elements remain in synchronization.
Tes8 Mpeg-2 Transport Stream Processor
Continuing Norpak Corporations long history of developing professional data encoders, the TES8 MPEG-2 Transport Stream Processor provides broadcasters, cable operators, satellite operators, and other content delivery companies with an inexpensive MPEG-2 transport stream data solution.
Combining power, versatility, and reliability into a 1RU or 2RU 19 inch rack-mountable chassis, the TES8 makes available data control functions such as:
- Encoding
- Re-multiplexing
- Bridging
- Decoding
- De-multiplexing
With the ability to run application specific software, the TES8
can address a variety of areas including:
- Bridging data such as captions
- Originating and updating electronic program guides (EPGs)
- CE equipment development and testing
- OCAP, ACAP, and PSIP data management
- VBI-over-MPEG
- Other data carriage/ handling applications
Tv Data Receivers
The Receiver is a device used to separate the data from the TV signal. TV Data Receivers or 'decoders' come in set-top, external box and PC card form and are even built into TVs and VCRs. Norpak's standard receiver line is designed to work with the TES3 or TES5 for high speed data broadcast to Personal Computers. Norpak also designs custom products for proprietary high and low speed TV Data transmission. Norpak receivers function in any TV standard: PAL, SECAM, NTSC, 525 line & 625 line.
Whaz-it
Norpak Corporations WHAZ-it Monitor is a downstream content auditing solution that allows broadcasters and network operators to see exactly what embedded content is reaching the viewer. The data is interpreted and logged into a SQL database from which a wide variety of reports can be generated, including activity by time, by channel, by domain name, etc. WHAZ-it reports can be used for legal and commercial applications based on verification of broadcast data integrity and certification of data transmission. Standard Microsoft Database Tools allow the end user to generate any report and view data logged by WHAZ-it.
Increased pressures for reduced manning, coupled with tremendous growth in the data signals carried, means broadcasters must look to automation for monitoring signals. WHAZ-it provides GPIO and SNMP alerts based on pre-selected criteria.
Applications
* Interactive TV service monitoring and logging;
* Interactive TV service analysis;
* Verification of broadcast data integrity;
* Monitoring Closed Captioning, Program Rating and other data;
* Development/debugging of interactive applications;
*Monitoring compliance with FCC captioning and VChip requirements;
Whak-it
Norpak Corporations WHAK-it is an iTV content filtering and substitution solution. It allows broadcasters and network operators to filter and/or replace embedded interactive TV data in real time, based on pre-determined rules established by the administrator. WHAK-it maintains a database of all changes made to the data feed, allowing the generation of detailed activity reports. It can be placed at any transmission or re-transmission site, allowing for localization of embedded links.
Applications
* Management of iTV content including Interactive TV trigger blocking, substitution and modification;
* Control of outgoing VBI data;
* Localization of National iTV data;
*Substitution with local iTV data.
Vbinet
The Norpak VBinet System combines Norpak's industry leading hardware with a family of software packages which enable distribution of data, such as World Wide Web pages and streaming audio/video, directly to widely dispersed PC users over the Vertical Blanking Interval (VBI) of any standard TV signal. VBinet is an end-to-end system developed to overcome the inherent access/response limitations of the Internet and other more traditional forms of telecommunications. The system allows the gathering, scheduling, TV datacast delivery and local PC browsing of existing, new or enhanced content. With the addition of the IP Multicast Bridge the VBinet family supports superior IP Multicast features such as high speed, uninterrupted video and audio streaming.
With VBinet, data is selected, encoded, broadcast via the TV Signal, received, decoded, stored and automatically updated on the end user's PC hard drive. The PC user can view the content instantly at any time using, for example in the case of an Internet service, any standard Internet browser. The VBI family includes an IP Multicast Bridge, a File Transfer Software (FTS) package, and a Subscription Management Software (SMS) package. Delivery can be assured by means of the Backlink Server package. Additional packages will be added.
Nielsen Encoders And Readers
The NES9 NAVE II Nielsen Audio Video Encoders add data to video and audio that is used to track a video creative through many national distribution systems. Typically, the signal is monitored as it is broadcast on all commercial full-power U.S. television stations, although other stations, cable feeds, and households can be monitored.
The information that is encoded is used to uniquely identify the content of the creative and, if desired, track the transport path of the creative through any other point in the distribution system that has a NAVE. This patented ability to add information at various stages is called multi-level encoding. The encoded information typically consists of a set of information used as a unique identifier.
Tes9 Multifunction Hdsdi Vanc & Sdi Vanc / Vbi Data Encoder Platform
Aimed at broadcasters, cable operators, satellite operators, and other content delivery companies, the TES9 is Norpak Corporations third generation HDSDI data encoder.
The TES9 is suited for application such as:
- Metadata processing
- Closed-Captioning
- Broadcast Flag control
- Interactive TV data carriage
Its highly versatile dual-video-path architecture makes possible advanced TV data control functions such as:
- Encoding
- Inserting
- Receiving
- Bridging
- Multiplexing
