NORTIP is a Community Business Development Corporation
sponsored by ACOA. We service a region in Newfoundland from
Norris Point, north to the tip of the Northern Peninsula. This
represents an of nearly 400km by 100km.

NORTIP provides assistance to small businesses through repayable,
patient loans of up to $125,000. We provide counselling services
to our clients at no charge. On staff are individuals who have
skills in the major functional areas of businesses. These people
are highly qualified to provide advice and technical assistance.

The service we provide is molded to meet the needs of each
client. Many financial institutions set strict rules that must
be followed. If one of your clients need help on the weekend,
then we try to accomodate that person. We provide support for
bookkeeping and business planning, including marketing. Some of
these services have a fee, depending on the amount of time
required to render the assistance.

Clients planning to apply to ACOA can request that we help
prepare their business plan. ACOA will pay for this service.

NORTIP is this regions delivery agent for HRDC's Self-Employment
Benefit program. Through this program. an eligible individual
who is unemployed can receive a living supplement for one year,
that person will also be eligible for training and counselling
services.

A program provided by ACOA, the SEED Capital and Counselling
Program is delivered by Nortip in this region. This program
provides a youth with up to $15,000 in equity funds to invest
into his/her venture. The funds are repayable. The terms are
set according to the client's needs. The loan has a maximum term
of seven years at prime plus two percent.

NORTIP is also a Canada Business Service Centre. We have
resources available for business persons to utilize in conducting
research and planning their venture. This service is free.
