Company Overview

Medgate's OH&S application software was developed as a process management information tool for corporate and institutional health professionals and risk management personnel. It is designed to enhance every aspect of Occupational Health and Safety within the workplace and to reduce costs associated with illness, injury, disability and environmental exposures.

With over 15 years of proven expertise in the OH&S field, Medgate continues to be recognized globally, as an industry leader. Medgate's strategic concentration in research & development generates cutting-edge solutions designed to meet evolving business processes and technologies.

Medgate's OH&S Software is currently comprised of twenty software modules. With the exception of the Employee Demographics Module, any of the modules can stand alone, or can be fully integrated with the others. There are no special requirements beyond configuring Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, etc., on a server so that they are accessible from a client PC running the appropriate ODBC driver.

Strategic partnerships contribute to the company's continued growth, performance and competitive advantage. The complementary skill set of partners like Medisys Health Group, Canada's leading Occupational Health and Disability Management service provider, extend Medgate's reach within the Health Care market and position Medgate as the logical choice for state-of- the-art OH&S enterprise software. Support in North America was covered solely from our Toronto center until the end of 1996. The rapid growth period commenced in 1997 and throughout the next few years, revenues are expected to grow exponentially. Two new client care centers: one in South Western United States to service the client base in the United States, South America and Mexico; and another one in Western Canada for current and future clients in Western Canada, were opened in 1997. Another center was open in April 1998 and Medgate has established a joint venture during 1999 in the UK to service the European Union. A new automated Client Support System HEAT (Help Desk Expert Automation Tool) has been installed and it will be linked to Medgate's WEB page by June 2000. This new automated Client Support System (HEAT) will permit direct Internet access to Medgate clients worldwide. Access will be in a real time environment with security controlled by Public Key Infrastructure(PKI) technology.

The Provincial Association of the Canadian Occupational Health Nurses Association, and the American Occupational Health have accepted Medgate's training for the basis of issuing Continuing Education Credits (CEU's) to health professional attendees. Medgate provides qualified instructors having both academic skills and demonstrated training capabilities.

Technology Profile:

MEDGATE HAS NO SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS BEYOND CONFIGURING ORACLE, SQL SERVER OR SYBASE ON A SERVER SO THAT IT IS ACCESSIBLE FROM A CLIENT PC RUNNING THE APPROPRIATE ODBC DRIVER.

Medgate's OHS&E software is a client server Microsoft Windows application designed to utilize the capabilities of powerful back end SQL compliant relational databases.

The front end portion of the application is developed using Microsoft Access, and is available under both 16 and 32 bit versions of Access. For those clients without Access it is also available as a standalone run-time module. Medgate runs on Windows 3. xx, Windows 95 and Windows NT platforms.

Medgate currently supports Oracle v7. x, Sybase System 11, and SQL Server v6.5 databases. Medgate intends to support all future releases of these RDBMSs. The database can reside on any server running any operating system, such as Unix or Windows NT, that is compatible with the underlying database.

Communication between the front end client and back end databases utilizes standard ODBC drivers. A benefit of this is that there are in general no compatibility problems when switching servers, databases or networks when utilizing Medgate's software.

Medgate supports most network operating systems including Netware and Windows NT. There are no known compatibility issues with any network or any version of any network operating system.

Medgate's OHS&E software applications are fully year 2000 compliant.
