Chem-Loc Environmental is a subsidiary of MakLoc Buildings Inc. MakLoc Buildings was launched in 1971 specializing in the petroleum industry, designing and building metal buildings for the oil and gas production fields and processing plants. In the 1980s MakLoc diversified into other natural resource industries, and developed commercial and agricultural applications for its metal structures. MakLoc designs and builds self-framing, rigid frame and skid mounted buildings, free standing canopies and specialty structures including craneways.
MakLoc Buildings employs over 100 people from an Engineer and Design Team that designs each building, to the many tradesmen and journeymen who fabricate the components, to the team of specialists who erect the metal buildings at the customer's location.
Chem-Loc Environmental manufactures portable skid mounted Chemical Storage Buildings. Chem-Loc Hazardous Storage Buildings have been chosen by all industry sectors for the safe and secure storage of chemicals, fuels, paints, pesticides and other hazardous materials. Chem- Loc Buildings feature an all steel design, epoxy chemical resistant secondary containment system and are available with a wide range of optional features such as: 1-4 hour fire rated design, fire suppression and specialty hoisting equipment.
Chem-Loc Buildings are available in three standard sizes, 8' x 8', 8' x 16' and 8' x 24' and can also be custom sized and designed to meet the customers specific requirements.

Chem-Loc buildings are uniquely designed to provide safety, security, segregation and secondary containment of hazardous materials. Standard design of the Chem-Loc includes:
22 gauge steel finished with baked-on polyurethane enamel;
an all structural steel skid, secondary containment sumps constructed of heavy 12 gauge steel and finished with chemical resistant epoxy coating to resist corrosion and chemical attack;
anti-static anti-spark steel bar grating floor permitting visual inspection of sumps;
heavy duty 4' x 7' door complete with panic hardware and non-removable pin hinges; gravity ventilation package consisting of wall louvre and roof turbine;
interior wall bumper system to prevent drum/building damage; and, a permanent placard holder.
