Magneto-Inductive Systems utilizes quasi-static AC magnetic fields for a variety of navigation, signaling and communication equipment. We refer to the resultant system technology as magneto-inductive (MI). The unique physical properties of the MI channel enables these systems to operate through any medium or medium boundary including water, ice, air and rock. Through our years of research, we have developed a variety of unique hardware designs for the generation, modulation and detection of AC magnetic fields. Empirical testing of this hardware has enabled us to develop an advanced understanding of the MI channel, and as a result, we have developed the ability to accurately mathematically model MI channel characteristics in any operating environment. This is essential to evaluating the merit of channel applications prior to initiating hardware design. MISL has been a defence contractor since 1991 and has enjoyed a strong working relationship with a variety of United States Navy labs.
