Longlac Wood Industries operates two mills on our site in Longlac, Ontario. The first is a Hardwood Plywood operation, which produces traditional Veneer Core Hardwood Plywood as well as a specially engineered Hardwood Plywood called Longlac Multicore. The second is North America's only Random Wafer Board operation. Random Wafer Board offers many advantages over OSB for specific industrial and construction applications. Random Wafer Board also offers a stable platform for laminating, as used in Longlac Multicore Hardwood Plywood and other industrial laminating applications. Longlac's Random Wafer Board mill produces to Canadian standards CSA-0437 and CSA-0325, and U. S. standards PS-2 and Structural 1, plus various specialty applications such as Engineered Web Stock.

DRIcore is the revolutionary subfloor system that will keep your basement warm and dry. Different from how a conventional subfloor is built, DRIcore does not have to be fastened to the concrete surface, or require any plastic sheeting or wooden sleepers that will eventually become full of mould and mildew due to condensation. With DRIcore, no bare wood ever hits the floor!

Longlac produces traditional veneer core hardwood plywood in 1/2', 5/8' and 3/4' thicknesses. Finish veneers include Birch, Maple, Ash, Oak, Cherry, Honduras Mahogany and Knotty Pine. Other species are also available subject to veneer supply, such as Clear Pine, Okume, Teak and many others. Longlac also produces an engineered specialty hardwood plywood panel called LMC (Longlac Multicore). Multicore offers many advantages over traditional veneer core products. Because core voids can cause many problems for furniture and cabinet manufacturers, Multicore has been engineered to provide a 'void free' product. We start by producing a high density Random Wafer Board core to exact specifications, sand this core to thickness tolerances unattainable in veneer core lay-ups, then add 100% solid Aspen crossbands. We then apply the finish veneer of your choice. The result - a void free product which also offers extremely tight thickness tolerances and is more stable than other veneer core products because of the engineered core. Longlac Multicore is available in 1/2', 5/8', 3/4' and 1' thicknesses, and comes in all the finish veneers we currently supply in our traditional veneer core product line.

Random Oriented Wafer Board (R. W. B.) has many advantages over it's second generation cousin O. S. B. While OSB has a slight advantage on span tables for home construction applications Random Wafer Board far exceeds OSB at many industrial and specialty uses. Because Random Wafer Board's strength is equal in all both directions, parallel and perpendicular, it offers tremendous advantages for wall shear applications, web stock applications and many other industrial uses such as crating. Random Wafer Board also offers a stable platform as a laminating blank for wood veneers, high pressure laminates and other finishing trreatments. Longlac's RWB is availble in 4' width x 4', 6', 7', 8', 9', 10', 12' and 16' lengths. Our matt size is 4' x 16' and we are capable of producing a 49' width and a maximum length of 16' 2'. RWB is available sanded to + or -.005 tolerances in 24, 40, 60, 80 and 100 grit finishes. Thicknesses range from 3/16' to 3/4'.
