Lipid Analytical Laboratories Inc. (LAL) was established in 1991.
It is locates at the University of Guelph Research Park Centre
to provides routine and specialized lipid (fat) analyses for the
Agri-food industries, academia and clinical groups. Fatty acid
profiles and amounts of mono-, poly-unsaturates, and saturated
fates of food products, nutraceuticals, as well as clinical
samples from individuals or research groups are performed via
capillary gas-liquid chromatography (GLC).

The lab is particularly commercially active in omega-3 ans trans
fatty acid determinations. Other specialized work includes
quantification of cholesterol (GLC), individual and total
phospholipid, mono-, di-, and tri-glycerides. Analyses of other
specialized lipids in any biological materials as well as
research projects and consultation can be arranged.
