Whale Watching From Tofino

Hot Spring Cove Boat Day Trip Join us aboard our New 35 foot Cabin Cruiser for a magical cruise through Clayoquot Sound to Hot Springs Cove. Once at Hot Springs, we will leave you there for three hours, plenty of time to walk the one mile boardwalk through the Ancient Rainforest to the Hot Springs themselves, soak for an hour and a half and meander back to the dock. You will need to bring a towel, bathing suit, lunch, and something to drink. You should also bring good walking shoes for rainforest trail, and water shoes for the Hot Springs. On our way back to Tofino, we will stop at the Gray Whales feeding grounds and do some Whale Watching, although the Whale watching on this tour is not guaranteed, due to weather and whale conditions. This tour operates February 15 - October 30 and is booked through Jamie's Whaling Station in Tofino.

Kayaking Tours Nature! As close up as you can get. Paddle over tidal pools teeming with mussels, anemone, starfish, crab, and more. Lift your heard to discover you're being watched by the bold, cold staring eyes of a bald eagle. Blue herons, or perhaps an otter or seal will become curious about you, plus 448 other species of birds. Meares Island explores the ancient rainforest, 1000 years old. Tours are for all levels of paddlers from novice to experienced. We also have kayak rental service for non-guided groups. Please contact Jamie's Whaling Station for more information.

Canoe Tours Join us on a 22 foot Voyager Canoe for either Inlet Family Paddles or more experienced Ocean Paddles. Daily May Through September

Bear Watching join us as we cruise through Clayoquot Sounds inner waters in search of the bashful Black Bear as they search the low tidal beaches in search of their favourite delicacy, the small Rock Crab. Tours depart Daily April 1 through October. Departure times vary with Low Tide Schedules. Contact our office for these departure times.

Clayoquot Biosphere Reserve Tour Join one of our tours to view the magnificence of the newly designated Clayoquot Unesco Biosphjere Reserve. All our tours in Tofino cruise through Clayoquot Sound and the Reserve.

Bamfield Day Tour Depart Ucluelet at 9:00 am and cruise through Barkley Sound in search of Gray Whales, Sea Lions and other marine mammals and seabirds, after which we will continue on to Bamfield on the southern shores of Barkley Sound. Here we stay for an hour or so, long enough to look around, and eat lunch at a local pub or cafe, then back to Ucluelet, arriving about 2 PM. Daily, May 1 through August.

Whale Watch In Barkley Sound Our new office at #2, 168 Fraser Lane, just above the Kingfisher Restaurant on the waterfront in downtown Ucluelet, invites you to experience the same quality tours in Barkley Sound as we have been providing since 1982 in Tofino. Whale Watching on the 'lady Selkirk' a 65 foot Coast Guard Certified vessel that carries 47 passengers, or experience the thrill of one of our 29 foot State of the Art 'Rigid Hull Inflatables' (Zodiac -Style). 4x4 Back Road Adventures an excellent adventure tour, whatever the weather, whatever the season...it is non-stop spectacular. Clayoquot (pronounced Klah- kwot) Sound was recently nominated a United Nations Biosphere Reserve. The area features some of the best scenery and breathtaking views on the West Coast. Keep a close eye out for black bears along the shoreline, May through December. Bald eagles nest here April through July. Waterfowl can be spotted year-round, with the rare Trumpeter Swan seen November through February. After leaving the inlet, the road climbs into the mountains, where huge rock formations show the passing of ice age glaciers. View fisheries restoration projects and salmon spawning from September to December. We often spot bald eagles and bears in these channels. Stop at Virgin Falls--a spectacular 175 foot cascade. A little later stop for lunch at the highest point of the tour, with a spectacular view of the falls. Lunches are prepared to meet your dietary requirements. Side tours on this trip may include J N Godfrey Trail near Kennedy Lake, the Staghorn Creek Salmon Enhancement Trail or Berryman Point for sea life viewing. The side tours are adjusted seasonally and with the weather to offer you the best scenic and wildlife viewing.

Lennard Light Roundabout Year Round Tour This tour will be on our 26 foot 'Lifeboat' style vessel and guests will be suited up in our zodiac cruiser suits to deal with winter weather. Join us on a 2 hr. voyage to the rugged outer islands of Tofino's harbour entrance. Navigating around Lennard Island, we pass directly under it's famous light tower and into a beautiful tidal lagoon where Harbour Seals reside. On our journey home, we parallel the beaches back to Tofino and investigate the inner islands and passages that define the harbour. The spectacular view of Clayoquot, the village, sea life, eagles, and their nests will provide excellent photo opportunities. During times of inclement weather, we will cruise to Lemmens Inlet within Meares Island, which was declared an Aboriginal Park in 1988. Surrounded by the Pristine Rainforest, we checkout where Captain John Gray built Fort Defiance in 1791 and learn how his actions there affected Canadian and American history. Being on a major migratory route, this trip also offers excellent bird watching. Often a phenomenon of nature occurs here where untold millions of Jellyfish congregate, truly an amazing sight in the crystal clear water. Don't forget to bring your camera.

Meares Island 'big Tree Trail' A short boat ride from Tofino deposits you on the shores of Meares Island where you will be left on your own to wonder the trail to the largest western Red Cedar in the world, in addition to other wonders in this primal rain forest. You will be picked up again in about two hours.

Surfing Lessons Surf with Sepp Bruhwiler, one of Canadas top two surfers! Two hour group lessons or two hour private lessons.
