Inco, Thompson Operations, is the world's first fully integrated nickel mining and processing facility. First production at Thompson in 1961 shipped products to markets throughout the world exporting about half to Asia. Manitoba ores yield marketable amounts of cobalt and copper and trace amounts of precious metals in addition to 99.9% pure electrolytic nickel. Products sold in world markets. The Manitoba Division produces at a nominal capacity of about 100 million pounds of nickel a year. It is an operating unit of Inco Limited headquarterd in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
