Holley Communications Canada Inc.
HOLLEY COMMUNICATIONS has a rich heritage in CDMA ASIC technology rooted in its team's expertise and product experience. Our legacy began in 1997 when a leading designer and manufacturer of semiconductor products, VLSI Technology, made the decision to initiate a CDMA ASIC program. Seeing the potential of the program, Philips Semiconductors negotiated a merger with VLSI in 1999. The merger combined VLSI's digital and wireless communications capabilities, computer networking and ASIC design expertise with Philips' strengths in wireless, multimedia, automotive and consumer electronics. Then in June of 2001, Philips refocused its market and technology direction, ending their involvement with CDMA solutions and opening the door for Holley Group Company, Ltd (Holley Group). In August 2001 Holley Group acquired the CDMA core technology design, handset design, and DSP software design teams from Philips Semiconductors. Through this acquisition, Holley Group obtained all equipment, assets, rights to use Philips intellectual property and wireless reference designs to create HOLLEY COMMUNICATIONS.
Holley Group is known as one of the founder-member of TD-SCDMA Industry Alliance, which marked the entering of fast development phase of TD-SCDMA standard. HOLLEY COMMUNICATIONS will benefit from such membership.
