Harbour Industries (Canada) Ltd.
Founded in 1965, Harbour Industries vision was to fill the gap
between the demand for high quality, high performance wire and
cable and the supply available at the time. The military's
stringent requirements for quality wire and cable shipped in a
timely manner were the formative guidelines for today's Harbour.
Attention to detail and a respect for the customer's needs have
enabled Harbour to grow in markets that demand quality,
consistency and availability.
For over 30 years, Harbour has stressed the importance of an
efficient, productive manufacturing facility. A number of moves
and property acquisitions have taken place including a new 25,000
square foot facility in Farnham, Quebec in 1985, a consolidation
of the Vermont locations to the present 50,000 square foot
facility in Shelburne and a 25,000 square foot expansion in 1996.
These additions have allowed Harbour to broaden product lines
while maintaining the same focus on high performance.
Harbour's mission statement is to remain competitive while
developing new high performance, specialty wire and cable to
service the military, aerospace, LAN, RF/Microwave, Industrial
and Commercial markets. Harbour's reputation for quality,
consistency and a strong technical orientation has resulted in
many new products and customers.
In the 1970's, when the National Fire Protection Association
recognized the potential fire hazard created by the use of cable
in ducts and plenums, Harbour started manufacturing Plenum
Cables. Plenum coaxial cables, used for closed circuit, master
antenna, and cable television systems, were followed by coaxial
cables for local area networks. The advent of faster computer
speeds created a need for plenum rated low capacitance cables,
Harbour responded with a complete line, and a complimentary line
of mid capacitance plenum cables.
Plenum cables for control, instrumentation, Ethernet and
point-of-sale systems were developed to supply an increasing
demand.
Today Harbour continues to develop plenum cable that will satisfy
the rigorous demands of faster computer networks. Harbour's
Category 5 cable, manufactured with all FEP primaries, will pass
the test of time and minimize transmission errors due to skew.
While other manufacturers have opted to substitute other
insulation to reduce their cost, Harbour's commitment to quality
assures you will get the best possible construction available.
