Grand Falls Milling Co., Ltd. was incorporated in 1946 to carry on the business of wholesale and retail hardware and building supplies, sale of agricultural spray materials and fertilizers, shippers of seed and table potatoes, general building contracting and seed grain. The Seed Grain Division was established in 1953 and have been member of the Canadian Seed Growers Association for the past 44 years. With a larger percentage of local potato farmers growing seed potatoes, crop rotation is becoming increasingly important and seed grain is now a substantial cash crop to the farmer.

Through three expansions over the years (1982, 1986 & 1988) to our Grain Terminal Plant, we are able to give better service to local farmers, such as cleaning, bagging, storage etc., which respond adequately to the increasing demand in the grain business and industry of feed and seed grain in general.

In years 80 we had to change. We had markets in Qubec which demand different varieties. So we started renting land to produce specific varieties which we couldn't get grown by local farmers.

As years passed, there was more demand and we, at Grand Falls Milling Co., Ltd., purchased land. At the moment we are producing 1000 to 1500 acres of land which some are ours and some are rented.
