La contamination des sdiments pose toujours un problme de logistique et d'quipements. Gophysique GPR a frquemment effectu l'chantillonnage de sdiments. Leurs quipements permettent d'obtenir des carottes jusqu' 2 m de long. Si ncessaire, ils peuvent installer sans problme une foreuse sur leurs embarcations. Les chantillons seront localiss au mtre prs grce a un systme de positionnement qui fonctionne par triangulation sur des points connus sur la rive. Des systmes GPS sont galement disponibles. Ils peuvent galement effectuer des levs gophysiques afin d'obtenir la profondeur d'eau, la stratigraphie des sdiments, une image continue du fond de l'eau ainsi que la profondeur du roc.
