Geodesy Remote Sensing Inc.

Geodesy Remote Sensing Inc. has been in business since 1987.
It has been actively involved in aerial photographic surveys
throughout Canada and overseas for the past nine years.

Geodesy's experience in Canada covers all of the Prairie
Provinces, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories including
the High Arctic islands. With one aircraft system the firm
has averaged, in an April to October season, 350 hours of
photo work that produces approximately 90 to 120 film rolls of
production.

The projects worked on cover virtually every application that
survey photo is put to. With an FMC camera Geodesy does many
low level, large scale projects for development and
engineering projects. The client list therefore includes many
engineering and photogrammetry firms in private industry.
Much of the work performed is with all three levels of
government, including agencies and crown corporations. The
company's work with this group of customers includes large- to
small-scale projects of all sorts that require the whole range
of film types. Geodesy has worked on projects where scales
have ranged from 1:1,200 to 1:70,000.

A majority of its work the last seven years has been for the
Alberta Forestry, Lands and Wildlife and the Federal
Government I.C.A.S. Geodesy also has experience working for
the United States National Science Foundation on the Antarctic
Continent.

Though this is still a young company, key individuals in the
organization have extensive experience in aviation and aerial
survey, both domestic and international. In eight years,
3,000 hours of survey and over 350 individual projects have
been carried out. This work has produced approximately 600
rolls of film and 240,000 line km of photography.

Services

Aerial Photography

Photogrammetry And Mapping Geodesy offers a complete range of mapping services: project planning and consultation, digital orthophotos and mosaics, film and print scanning, anaglyph stereo rendering, raster/vector superimposition, hi-resolution plotting, GPS(global positioning system)data reduction, kinematic airborne surveys, aerial photography and CAD/GIS database integration for geoengineering.

Remote Sensing Geodesy provides the following aircraft based services in remote sensing: 1)Forest Fire Mapping System designed to detect and delineate fires. The product is a georeferenced image map designed for use by the fire fighting team. 2)Oil Spill Detection and Mapping System: this system uses a combination of sensors to detect and map areas of oil spills on water surfaces. 3)CASI(Compact Airborne Spectral Imager):Geodesy provides aircraft support to a multi/hyperspectral imaging system for studies in a variety of environmental, forestry, agriculture and hydrography applications
