GEO-3D offers an alternative to ground or aerial surveys based on the use of digital cameras set-up on an aircraft or on a vehicle. The cameras are also associated to D-GPS and inertial platforms.
Cyclop-3D aerial applications generate 3D digital imagery georeferenced using a GPS (US Patent). With these images, managers of linear rights-of-way (banks, coastal areas, electric lines, pipelines, railways, roads, etc.) can make measurements in the three axes (x, y, z), apply positioning features and transfer data to a Geographic Information System (GIS). Moreover, the technology provides a powerful multidate image comparison feature.
Using the same source code as the Cyclop-3D but geared towards a different market, the Trident-3D ground applications help in georeferencing roadside elements (electric distribution networks, road signs, municipal equipment). Equipment managers are currently digitising their processes and installing GIS. They must complete the inventory of their assets. As compared to traditional land surveys or ones performed by foot using GPS, the Trident-3D operated from a vehicle represents a time- and cost-effective solution.
Cyclop-3D and Trident-3D systems are available as PRO and Analyst versions. PRO systems are required to produce. g3d video files and are used on the aircraft or the vehicle during the survey. Positioning and analytical work is performed back in the office. Image analysis as well as measurement and data transfer to a GIS are available on the Analyst version of the software.
