In February 1993, Gemini Positioning Systems Ltd. was incorporated in Alberta for the express purpose of distributing Ashtech GPS Products in Canada. Gemini's expertise in this area dates back to 1978 at which time, under JMR Instruments Ltd., it began producing Transit satellite receivers and peripherals for a world market.
In order to accommodate the Ashtech product line of GPS survey equipment, Gemini has established a sales network of companies across Canada and set up a complete maintenance and training depot in its Calgary facility where an extensive lease pool of Ashtech precision geodetic GPS receivers are maintained and available for immediate delivery. All of Gemini's technical and service personnel have been factory-trained by Ashtech in its Sunnyvale, California, factory.
Analytical engineering support, receiver service, and training are provided by Gemini Positioning Systems Ltd. Training courses are conducted on a regular basis by Gemini personnel.
