Environmental Monitoring Programs
G3 Consulting - environmental effects, risk assessment, or trend
monitoring programs.
Environmental monitoring programs are designed and implemented
to define effects of industrial/municipal operations on the
receiving environment (e.g., pulpmill effluent discharge). These
programs encompass a broad range of disciplines from engineering
and statistics to fisheries and limnology. Effects monitoring
programs generally span a number of years and require the
management of numerous logistical details and personnel. G3 has
developed data management and handling criteria with rigorous
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) measures ensuring a
high level of data confidence.
Trend monitoring programs encompass the comprehensive monitoring
of industrial receiving environment constituents, both
temporally and spatially. Many of these programs are conducted
on behalf of the pulp and paper, forestry and mining industries,
and are designed to assess changes in environmental matrices as
a result of industrial process changes. G3 is focused on
appropriate study design integrity and program sensitivity which
are paramount in that program results are often disseminated to
public interest groups and the media. These programs often
require the analysis of a wide variety of environmental
components including sediments, receiving water, effluents, and
biological samples (vegetation, invertebrates, fish, benthos,
periphyton, and crab tissue, etc.). Ultratrace dissection,
handling and analyses of many of the samples collected
necessitated the development of exacting protocols for field,
laboratory, and data handling. G3 conducts ongoing marine and
terrestrial evaluations on behalf of government and industry.
G3 personnel are specialists in studies of this scope and work
with government and industry to develop scientifically-sound
programs which comply with or supersede environmental
regulations and policies. Areas of specialty include pulp and
paper, forestry, mining, petroleum and fisheries-based programs.
Systems Analyses & Database Designs
G3 Consulting Ltd. directs a team of analysts and programmers
that develop custom software solutions for a variety of
industries. Environmental monitoring programs in numerous marine
and freshwater environments required the development of new and
sophisticated data management methodologies.
These programs required the accuracy and sensitivity to data
integrity of results from programs that required the analysis of
samples to ultratrace levels (parts per quadrillion).
As a supplement to G3 reporting systems, field and laboratory
data sheets are tailored to ensure that the appropriate
information is obtained and in the necessary format for entry
into a specific database. G3 provides custom database analysis
and programming services to the federal government and a variety
of industries.
