FineLine employs a wide variety of hardware systems, owing to the wide variety of products we offer.
Paging: Our paging system runs on a Glenayre GL3000M paging terminal, using Purc Motorola transmitters installed on the roof of the 32-story TD Center building in Winnipeg.
Voice Messaging: Incoming calls to our operators are deposited to client voicemail using a Szeto Madvs system, with an Associated Call Distributor system for the PI (Professional Inbound) application (see Call Center below).
Call Center: The largest portion of Fine Lines business with regards to I. T. involvement, our Call Center currently runs on an Alston Tascom Messaging System Gen 7. This system routes incoming calls to specific operators, based on the number dialed. The calls are handled and recorded by the PI (Professional Inbound) application, which uses client specific operator scripts and programs to collect and process data, which is then stored in multiple files for storage & reporting. Current in-house programs are written in Clipper and Microsoft Access.
An extensive upgrade to the call center and messaging systems has recently been undertaken. A vastly improved Alston Tascom Digital SQL system is being installed which will provide digital phone switching and voice messaging, a Microsoft SQL 7.0 relational database, Crystal Reports reporting modules, and Braxtel IVR functionality. In-house programming will now be done in Visual Basic 6.0. Fine Line will also be branching into providing web access to our clients data and reporting using HTML, Java, and dbMan languages.
Remittance Processing: Three NCR 7741 scanners connected to Creditron applications are used to process remittance stubs and checks. Data is stored in various tables and accessed via Clipper or MS Access programs for export and reporting. New systems rewrites will be written using Visual Basic 6.0, and data will be stored in the new MS SQL 7.0 database.
Internal Networks: FineLines LAN runs Novell Intranet Ware 4.11 on 3 Compaq Proliant 1600 servers, with a Vinca standby server. The new Tascom Digital SQL system will run on 1 Stealth Industrial Sr-4000 Passive Back plane server and 1 Stealth Industrial Sr-6000 Passive 18 slot Back plane switch/server, both running Windows NT 4.0. A mixture of MS Windows 95, 98, and NT are used for internal PC clients.
