Company Overview
In 1973, Rivire-du-Loup installations were acquired by Brant-Allen Industries a firm from Greenwich, Connecticut. The joint partnership between an american publishing company as Dow Jones and a Quebec government company as Rexfor brought the implantation of a second paper machine on the site. Since then, large investments were made to upgrade the Mill production to more than 600 metric tons per day.
Round wood, recycled fibers and wood chips are used as raw materials. Pulp is produced in a thermomechanical refining process and the quality of the Mill paper is one of the best on the market combining quality and running per- formances.
F. F. Soucy is proud to be the first pulp & paper industry to obtain ISO 9002 certification in North America. It is also a leader for other mills in environmental matters by being well concerned in water management and its low water consumption is the evidence. Our Mill choose the least environmental costless pulp process and wish to maximize use of natural ressources and minimize hard, liquid or gaz rejections.
