The following are the main areas of activity of Le Groupe Conseil Entraco's Environmental Verification Division:

Analysis and Remediation of Mining Sites: sampling and analysis of mining waste, static and kinetic testing of mining acid drainage, on-site implementation of assessment equipment, development of remediation concepts and preparation of plans and estimates; Analysis of Contaminated Lands: historical research, reports and surveys, sampling and analysis programs involving drilling, stratification sampling, observation wells, sampling of soils, of groundwater and of air, computer processing of data, estimation of volumes, examination of management options, including the treatment of soils and groundwater; Environmental Verification in an Industrial Setting: historical study of the site and its installations; study of current occupations and uses; process assessments, study of processes for the management of hazardous waste and garbage, identification of areas and activities which are at risk, environmental analyses aimed at evaluating the quality of soil, surface water and groundwater, evaluation of the environmental state of the site and its installations, recommendations concerning the remediation of the site; Management of PCBs: sampling and analysis, safety storage; Management of Underground Reservoirs: management of reservoirs, dismantling of underground reservoirs, remediation of contaminated underground soils and groundwaters; Remediation of Contaminated Sites: analysis of intervention options (on-site confining, in situ treatment, or ex situ excavation and treatment, landfilling, etc.), estimation of remediation costs, comparative analysis and recommendations concerning the optimal methods, implementation of management options, environmental control and audit; Treatment of Contaminated Soils and Groundwater (Organic, Inorganic or Mixed Contamination): treatability studies (laboratory, experimental), in situ or ex situ treatments, bioaugmentation, ventilation.

• Environmental Audit And Computerized Environmental Management System.

  In order to facilitate the sound environmental management of industrial activities, Entraco offers its professional services to manufacturing companies for the implementation, the evaluation and the improvement of their environmental management systems. Within the framework of an environmental audit (environmental verification), Entraco will verify the conformity of operations and of the methods used for managing hazardous waste, and will establish, if necessary, an environmental remediation plan (ERP). Activities will then be integrated to form an environmental management plan (EMP) which, depending on the nature and the complexity of the installations and the activities, may be transferred onto a computer system.

• Environmental Products And Services
• In Situ Or Ex Situ Bioremediation Of The Contaminated Soils.

  Entraco offers all of the services which are necessary for the complete remediation of sites contaminated by petroleum hydrocarbons: the analysis of soils and groundwater; studies of management options; plans and strategies for remediation; requests for permits and authorization; remediation works (overseeing civil engineering works, restoring the hydrocarbons to their floating state, bioremediation of soils, treatment of the water); remediation reports.

  The remediation of contaminated sites can take place in situ or ex situ, depending on technical, economic and environmental constraints. The procedures used, which vary according to the characteristics of the soil and the environmental conditions, include bioremediation using a biopile and bioventilation.

  Entraco has successfully completed several bioremediation projects, notably in remote areas as far north as the 62nd parallel.

• Systems For Treating Contaminated Waters With Activated Carbon.

  Entraco offers all of the services necessary for the remediation of sites whose groundwaters have been contaminated by petroleum hydrocarbons: hydrogeological studies (including the installation of observation wells, permeability tests, pumping tests, the analysis of contaminant migration), the recovery of floating states, pumping, and on-site remediation using a treatment unit.

  Treatment units are designed to take into account the physical and chemical characteristics of groundwaters, as well as the client's decontamination objectives. The units are easy to transport and are installed on contaminated sites, whether they are located close to urban centres or in remote areas.
