Enfotec offers a customized information service to clients who
are involved in field operations where access to up to date
information on environmental conditions is critical. Due to the
dynamic nature of the environment, ENFOTEC has initially focused
on coastal/offshore marine activities. The on-line service
provides clients with a range of specially designed information
products. The information is provided via an electronic
bulletin board which contains near real time spatial
information pertinent to the client's needs including local and
long range weather, ice cover and sea state.

The service can be expanded to detect and monitor the position
of vessels and other features. This would support the
management of emergency situations such as oil spills, search
and rescue operations, fisheries management, or coastal
surveillance.

Enfotec also provides the tools to implement customized
information. Specially-designed software enhances the
presentation of information and provides hands-on manipulation
and anlysis for decision-makers. The Windows format software
features functions such as geo-refencing, position-marking,
target tracking, route planning, feature extraction, annotation
and vector overlay. The PC station may be interfaced with a
vessel's systems such as the Gyro, GPS, radar or electronic
charts to allow the integration and display of real time data.

A primary focus of Enfotec's initial business is providing near
real time spatial information to vessels operating in ice-
infested waters using the ICENAV system. ICENAV was developed
and proven over the last three years by clients in the North
American Arctic and Greenland. ENFOTEC is now expanding on this
business by providing the ICENAV service in the Gulf of St.
Lawrence and Great Lakes regions.
