Electric Tractor Corporation has developed a line of rugged, environmentally friendly, high performance electric tractors based on its state of the art technology. The benefits of ETC's models over gas alternatives are compelling: extremely quiet operation, no fumes or air pollution, extremely low operating costs, virtually no maintenance and a high level of convenience as no gas or oil needs to be handled. The research and development (R&D) behind these tractors has occurred over a 12 year period and has resulted in a number of patented designs.
Current product line
The 'Electric Ox' is a high performance electric towing vehicle and is actively being marketed to greenhouses and other industries with indoor towing requirements. The ability to turn around within a ten foot aisle, its significant towing capability and the fact it gives a full 12 hour day's work on a full charge make it an ideal vehicle for indoor applications. Customer feedback to date indicates the performance of the Electric Ox make it an excellent choice even if environmental considerations are not a factor.
ETC currently has two lawn and garden tractor models: Electric Ox - MP (multi-purpose) a rear wheel drive unit with a conventional steering wheel, but with simulated power steering and an electronic differential. Attachments for both models are front mounted with a patented Quick-Attach system.
ETC's 36 volt & 48 volt, battery operated tractors offer many advantages over gas or diesel alternatives : extremely quiet operation; no emissions or air pollution allowing for indoor applications; very low operating costs (typically 10% of gas powered units); virtually no regular maintenance required; portable AC power option (allows use of electric tools in areas remote areas of a property); exceptionally convenient (no handling of gas or oil is necessary); effortless and fast change of attachments (in a non-towing vehicle application).
The energy creation and conservation capabilities of the technology include the effective use of regenerative braking. Unlike internal combustion vehicles, the electric tractor has an infinitely variable throttle (speed) range, and the driving characteristics, such as maximum speed, acceleration and deceleration are programmable to suit each operator's taste. Unlike other electric vehicles, ETC's technology utilises off the shelf batteries, thus providing an ecological solution at an economical price. One additional feature that is not currently marketed is the remote control capability of the technology (in special applications).
Accessing products or technology
ETC's current marketing energies are developing additional distribution channels in North America, but has begun entertaining other inquiries from around the world. The modular construction and high reliability of ETC products make direct factory sales to overseas destinations a more practical undertaking.
The electric drive technology which is the heart of the tractors is easily adapted to other vehicle types. As a result, ETC is also pursuing sales and/or licensing of the drive system technology as well as other derivatives of the original vehicle. ETC will consider all serious contract or joint venture proposals to adapt its technology to other uses.

Electric Tractor With Mower Deck.
Electric Tractor Corporation (ETC) is using its state of the art technology to manufacture and market high performance electric tractors with various attachments including a mower deck.
ETC currently has two lawn and garden tractor models: Electric Ox - MP (multi-purpose) a rear wheel drive unit with a conventional steering wheel, but with simulated power steering and an electronic differential.
The tractor itself can be run for days without having to recharge the batteries. The front mounted mower attachment's blade speed is 3,600 rpm's under load and can be run continuously for a minimum of 3-5 hours. Noise level at the operator's ear level is 72 decibels.
Recharging from flat to full costs approximately $1.00 (Ontario Hydro rates), and is accomplished by plugging the tractor into any normal household outlet. There are no filters, hoses, belts, oil, grease or gas. Maintenance is limited to monitoring the tire air pressure and the water level in the batteries.
Switching from one attachment to another takes less than one minute and requires no tools.
Electric tools and weed trimmers can be plugged directly into the tractor's optional 120V AC outlet (excellent mobile or emergency power source).
Suggested retail cost is comparable and in some cases lower than the name brands' internal combustion powered 18-20 hp tractors with mower attachment.
