English As A Second Language (esl)
International Business English Training
ECC's International Business English Training Program (I.B.E.T.) is an intensive and comprehensive course designed to bring the real world of international business into the language classroom. The course is ideal for ESL students seeking an international business career OR mid-career students who are currently working in business and wish to improve and apply their English skills. Specifically, the course is most suitable for students with an intermediate English language skill level, a university degree and previous work experience.
Training In Spoken English (tse)
What is the TSE?
The TSE Program (TSEPP) trains the student to speak fluently in English.
Who should take the TSE and where can it take me?
People who are serious about effective communication and improving their speaking skills
People who want to socialize, work, and have more impact with native English speakers
People working in health care, medical and tourism professions
People applying to English speaking Universities and Colleges
What will it give to our students?
The TSE is useful for individuals who want to develop a stronger relationship with the English language and the spoken English world. The goal of this program is to allow students to be versatile with listening and speaking in English.
The TSE is a program for intermediate and advanced language learners. The course could prepare students to take the TSE examination, and provides students who do not intend to take the TSE with an opportunity to enhance and improve their oral communication skills.
Daily Schedules
The theory portion of the course focuses on effective communication strategies.
The practice period of the course is where students apply the skills they have been taught.
Evening Communication Class
The program is designed to assist students in improving their English skills so that they can perform better when volunteering, working in Canada or in daily situations.
Following an entry exam, students are placed in a class according to their level. Three main levels are offered: beginner, intermediate, and advance. The maximum number of students in a class is ten. Students are allowed to join a class within the first two weeks of the two-month-session or as soon as a new group opens.
Each week, students will face many communicative activities. The focus in the class is on pronunciation, speaking, and listening. These activities allow the students to personalize what they have learned in order to talk to others with ease. Students are encouraged to keep a journal of words or situations that they are unsure of and bring it to class for discussion. In order to learn the formal rules of a language, students need to practice their new skills. Using English outside of the classroom is very important so the students do not lose the skills that they have learnt in class.
ECC's evening program provides an abundance of both controlled and communicative exercises so that students can bridge the gap between knowing grammatical structures and using them.
