Durisol Material Limited, a 100% Canadian owned company incorporated in 1953. The head office is located in Hamilton, Ontario and the manufacturing facility is in Michell, Ont.
All products produced by Durisol Inc. incorporate a unique material called Durisol. Durisol is a wood particle concrete which is very durable, particularly in harsh environments. The material can be moulded into any shape, is light weight, thermally insulating, non-combustible and sound-absorptive.
Durisol Inc's primary products now sold in Canada and in the USA are:

The Durisol material was first developed in Switzerland in the 1940's. The Swiss solved the problem of binding wood shavings with ordinary Portland cement by discovering a unique chemical treatment for the wood shavings. Continued refinements in the manufacturing process and the materials exceptional properties has led to its varied applications and world wide use. There are many Durisol manufacturing operations around the world, all under license by Durisol International Corp.
Durisol International Corp., an Ontario Corporation formed in January 1990, purchased all rights to the Durisol technology, trade marks and know-how from the Swiss company and is owned jointly by Durisol Canada, Durisol Holland and Durisol Austria. Durisol Canada services the territory which includes North, Central and South America, the Pacific Rim countries including China, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Malaysia and Australia.
Durisol Materials Limited obtained Canadian and US Patents for the Noise Barrier Wall System in 1981.
Since 1987, Durisol products have been manufactured under license in the United States of America by The Reinforced Earth Company. Current production facilities are located at Hanson Concrete Pipe & Products Inc., in Pottstown, Pennsylvania and at Smith-Midland Corporation in Midland, Virginia.
Durisol Inc. was established in April 1996 as the operating company for manufacturing and sales of Durisol products.
