Founded in 1994, Domosys Corporation is a leading provider of control networking technology to the residential, utility, transportation and commercial markets. The company designs and markets a complete portfolio of products and services required by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and system integrators to successfully develop and deploy control networks. The Domosys PowerBus technology transforms any stand-alone product into a device that can be controlled and monitored either locally or remotely over the Internet.

The AC power line presents some unique and unusual challenges when it is used as a communication medium. High levels of noise, strong attenuation (especially between phases), frequency- dependent transmission characteristics, and time varying conditions make reliable communications between two nodes quite difficult.
Using our expertise developed over the last seven years in control networking over the power line, we addressed these issues not only by developing a high performance Physical layer for the power line, but also by creating a new and complete protocol stack and ASIC (called the U-Chip) specifically designed to meet the challenges of this medium. The result, known as PowerBus technology, is designed to meet the requirements of developers, manufacturers, installers and service providers in the control networking market.

Get to market fast. Remove the risk. Reduce NRE costs. Our product development engineers are at your disposal to give your products the capabilities to network over the power line. Nobody does it better and faster.
Engineers with years of expertise in power line communication and CEBus & PowerBus technologies are available to quickly and accurately answer questions regarding Domosys transceivers and tools.
In a few short days, learn how to harness the power of Domosys transceivers and tools. Our DomoU training programs will shorten your product development cycle.
The CEBus AC power adapter is a plug-in power supply for CEBus and Home Plug & Play compliant products. It supplies 900 mA at 10 VDC. The adapter also acts as a coupler between the product and the power line. Available in 120 VAC and 240 VAC versions.
CEBox is a software tool that generates fully compliant CEBus and Home Plug & Play protocol stack. The value of CEBox comes from reducing both the time to market and the risks associated with product development. Libraries available for CEWay PL-One, 8051 and 68HC11 microcontrollers.
The CECom is a CEBus compliant power line modem. It connects any stand-alone product with an RS-232 port, such as a PC, to the power line. Available in 120 VAC and 240 VAC versions.
CETester is a software tool for testing the communication features of a product against established test scenarios and monitoring traffic over the power line. A must-have tool to accelerate product development. Runs on any PC in conjunction with a CECom modem.
The CEWay PL-III is a power line transceiver IC that implements the CEBus Physical and Data Link Layers. It is best suited for large applications requiring more processing power.
The DomoSIP is a Single In-Line Package (SIP) combining a CEWay PL-III transceiver with filtration and amplification circuitry. DomoSIP sharply reduces the time to build an interface to the power line. Available in 120 VAC and 240 VAC versions.
The HeadStart Suite is the most affordable and complete tool package available. This tool suite includes the CEBox software system, the CEBoard prototyping platform, the CETester qualifying tool and the CECom power line modem. Developers need no more.
In order to guarantee rapid development time and consistently high communications performance, low volume shipments of U-510 and U-520 series IC are always shipped with a MIC supporting the chosen medium: AC or DC power line, or twisted pair.
The MIC design can also be licensed from Domosys in order to reduce costs by directly integrating it with the rest of the devices components.
The PowerCard is a PowerBus prototyping platform incorporating a U-520 (PB node) series IC. It plugs into the desired medium (AC or DC power line supported), and can connect to a host via an RS- 232 or SPI port (both are present). A header is provided that gives access to all of the U-520s IO signals, and a daughter board with 2 switches and 8 LEDs is used as a sample peripheral. This board is useful for rapidly adding PowerBus connectivity to existing devices.
The PowerGate is a PowerBus modem incorporating a U-510 (LN manager) series IC. It plugs into the desired medium (AC or DC power line supported), and connects via an RS-232 port to a host. It is useful for installing, configuring, and monitoring a PowerBus network.
These ICs are a powerful single-chip solution for developing a complete PowerBus device. Each IC is based on a RISC 8051 microcontroller (8x faster than a standard 8051) operating at 30 MHz from 40C to 85C. They contain 64kb of flash memory, 6kb of RAM, a versatile PHY supporting multiple media (AC, DC, and TP), and are available in 48 and 80 pin LQFP packages.
The PowerBus protocol stack is embedded in the flash memory, and can be upgraded via UART, SPI, JTAG, or the medium. Lots of room is available in flash memory for adding manufacturer or installer scenarios and applications using V-Logic and V2s. Every chip has a unique, worldwide MAC address useful for addressing PB nodes over the Internet, as well as several unique 80-bit encryption keys.
The U-510 series of ICs contains support for operating as LN or SN managers, at the expense of not having any IO device drivers other than the PAPI interface.
The U-520 series of ICs can only operate as a PB node, but contain drivers for up to 36 IOs, a triac driver, 2 PWM outputs, an input counter, and 4 ADC inputs.
