Diploma in Adult Education
St. Francis Xavier University is proud to offer its Diploma in
Adult Education - the original training for the trainer program -
the Number One Choice among adult educators and human resources
development professionals. Now in its 25th year, the program is
offered in major centres across Canada and stresses practical, hands-on skills development for adult educators, trainers, HRD consultants, and
others working in related capacities. The program consists of
six modules. Modules 1-5 are classroom based, each consisting of
a three day workshop and a formal assignment. Module 6 is a
practicum, completed at-a-distance. This format offers maximum
accessibility and flexibility to learn while you earn. Normally,
each mdoule is staffed by two facilitators and enrollment is
limited to 30 learners.
The program has been offered since 1981. To date, we have
provided professional development to thousands of adult learners.
In 1996, the program garnered the National/International Program
of Excellence award from CAUCE (Canadian Association for
University Continuing Education).
