Diamond Aircraft Industries was launched in 1992 with a goal to
redefine the light aircraft training market and to bring new
aircraft manufacturing technology to North America.
The company is located in London, Ontario, Canada and is housed
in a 300,000 square foot facility on the London International
Airport and currently employs 240 people. Diamond maintains three
sales offices in Canada, nine in the United States, and one in
Europe.
From July, 1993, to July, 1994, Diamond Aircraft completed the
transfer of technology for the Katana from Europe and is the sole
manufacturer of the 2-seater Katana DA20 for the worldwide
market. The Katana is certified in Canada, the United States,
Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, South Africa and Australia.
The company established Diamond Financial Incorporated to
provide 'owner-friendly' financing and leasing of the company's
aircraft products.
The company's commitment to customer service is unparalleled with
24 hours per day, seven days a week personal technical service
and parts support.
Diamond Aircraft's international team of design and manufacturing
engineers have been recognized worldwide for their expertise in
light aircraft, composite technology. Presently, research and
design teams in Europe and Canada are completing prototype design
for the four place Katana DA40. The new aircraft will feature
several engine options, instrument certification, economy and
efficiency along with Diamond's recognized safety standards. The
aircraft is scheduled for production in Spring 1999. Other
projects also are under consideration to optimize the company's
composite capabilities.
