Dellux Technologies inc., a Canadian company located in the Montreal area, has developed an LED-based Intelligent Tunnel Lighting system, which challenges common standards in the industry. Entirely monitored by a remote computer that can diagnostic the whole network unit by unit through a single website interface, the new technology allows 40% to 80% energy savings compared to conventional tunnel lighting systems. Our ITL system is virtually maintenance-free for over 15 years during which there are no costly light bulb and ballast replacement or consequent wastes in the environment. Dellux ITL system can also integrate in its website interface different electronic parameters such as web cams, variable message signs, lane use or speed limit signals. All ITL parts and components are 100% recyclable and contain no toxic materials such as mercury.
Dellux intelligent lighting system was first installed in the Atwater tunnel in Montreal in 2004. Further to that first installation, the City of Montreal adopted the Dellux lighting solution again for the refurbishment of the Saint-Marc and du Fort tunnels during that same year. Our first installation in Europe will be completed in January 2006 in Oslo, Norway.
Dellux is also currently adapting its intelligent lighting system in order to make it suitable for other applications such as subways, interior parkings and mines.
