By way of example, NASA/JPL chose Dataradio for the vital Lander-
Rover data communications link on the 1997 Mars Pathfinder
Mission and again for the 2001 project.

Fixed Radio Data Communication
Dataradio designs and manufactures radio and radio-modems for
private network applications in telemetry, SCADA, and space
exploration. Dataradio modems were on the Mars Pathfinder
Mission in 1997 and will be used again on the 2001 landing.
Products are available for narrowband FM channels from 130 to
960 MHz. Radio-modems operate at 1200 to 19,200 bits per second.
Mobile Radio Data Communication Products

and manufacture mobile data equipment for private radio networks
in the bands between 130 and 960 MHz. Components include
Gemini-PD a revolutionary state-of-the-art 19.2 Kbps radio modem
with 3 RS-232 ports, dual receiver Space Diversity, Parallel
Decode and smart combining using a DSP for remarkable data
sensitivity. The fully integrated unit also features an on-board
GPS receiver for AVL. Paragon PD a matching Space Diversity
Parallel Decoding Base Station. Mobil-pac integrated radio
modem at 19.2 Kbps, MRM (Mobile Radio Modem), BDLC (Base Station
Data Link Controller), MSC (Multi Site Controller for wide area
systems with roaming). Radio Modems operate at bit rates of 9600
for 12.5 KHz channels and 19.2 Kbps on 25 KHz channels and are
FCC refarming compliant. Dataradio pioneered the concept of
mobile computing and it one of the world leaders in this field.
