When estimates are received by the client from contracting companies, we match them with one prepared by ourselves, using up-to-the-minute material costs, union scale wages, and the optimum number of employees for each phase of the project. We can then identify where the contractors are overcharging, undercharing, or are liable to skimp on quality to secure the job. We maintain a current file on each and every company in a given geographic area, complete with financial research, job histories, employee intereviews, and numerous other forms of information we acquire through different sources. These files are maintained on a daily basis, either added to or deleted from, depending on the situation. As a secondary action, we will, on the wishes of the tenderers, make random visits to the job site itself, making sure that the companies are adhering to their estimates, using the correct materials, number of employees, permits, etc., and act as a liason between the client and the company contracted for the work.
