At its Welland Plant in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Cytec Canada Inc.
operates the only phosphine (PH3) and phosphine derivatives plant
in North America. It is the largest of only three such plants in
the world and produces the most diverse range of phosphine-based
products. These products are used, for example, in mining and
solvent extraction applications, as durable textile flame retardants and intermediates for catalysts, phosphonium salts and UV photo initiators
Phosphine derivatives are produced under ISO 9001:2000 certification. Cytec Canada Inc. is a member of the CCPA, the Niagara Falls Chamber of Commerce and as is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cytec Industries Inc., West Paterson, N.J.

50% aqueous solution of sodium diisobutyldithiophosphinate. Has
utility as a flotation promoter for base metal sulphide minerals
of Cu, Pb and Zn. Particularly suited for treating complex ores
where it often increases the recovery of associated precious
metals.
Cyanex 272 Extractant Cas#83411-71-6
Bis(2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)phosphinic acid. A solvent extraction
reagent widely used for the separation of cobalt from nickel.
Also in the separation of rare earths.
Cyanex 921 Extractant Cas#78-50-2
Trioctylphosphine oxide. A solvent extraction reagent for the
recovery of acetic acid from effluents and the removal of
uranium from wet process phosphoric acid.
Cyanex 923 Extractant
A liquid mixture of four trialkylphosphinic oxides used as a
solvent extraction reagent in the recovery of acetic acid,
cadmium and rare earths. Also used as a catalyst in the
preparation of pharmaceutical intermediates (acid chlorides).

Trioctyl(octadecyl)phosphoniuim iodide. Used as a phase transfer
catalyst. Available in a variety of solvents.
Cyphos 442 Phosphonium Salt Cas #3115-68-2
Tetrabutylphosphonium Bromide. Available as a solution in various
solvents such as 2-propanol and water. Used as a phase transfer
catalyst or curing agent for epoxy resins.
