Cryotron (Canada) Ltd.
Manufacturer and Global distributor of Cryogenic Processing
Systems. Our technology is used to prolong the usable life of
machine tooling, dynamic parts and a variety of other materials
Cryogenic Processing
Cryogenic treatment of metals to improve wear characteristics is
a relatively new engineering field. To date little has been
reported on the basic mechanisms of the process. In recent
years, we have seen an increase in the use of cryogenics (a
result of Aerospace Research) to improve the wear resistance and
durability of various metals.
Cryotron has developed a unique method for treating a variety of
commonly used tool steels and parts. The Cryotron method, unlike
a surface coating, is a one-time permanent treatment that
affects the material throughout. Re-sharpening or redressing of
worn tools does not destroy the effects of the treatment. Tools
may be new, used, sharp or dull, prior to treatment.
Every industry has some application for the use of cryogenic
metal treatment -- to increase tool and part life, to decrease
downtime due to change-out and regrinding, and to reduce costly
tool inventory. Cryotron's cryogenic treatment will result in
significant savings to industry and consequently reduce the
tremendous drain and usage of Energy, Natural Resources and Raw
Materials. The Cryotron process is completely environmentally
friendly.
Cryotron also manufactures several models of Cryogenic
Processors for domestic and international markets.

Cryogenic Processing
Cryogenic Processing of metals is used to extend the useful life
of tooling and dynamic parts. If you dig with it, cut with it,
drill with it, it's life will be increased if it is cryogenic
treated. A complete description of the process can be found at
