SPO' is a small manufacturer of ladies sportswear, located in the Chabanel district of Montreal. The company designs and manufactures in the Province of Quebec, two collections a year - Spring / Summer and Fall / Winter. The line, in it's sixth season is represented in both Canada and the U. S. A.
The lines consist of approximately 70 pieces - jackets, blouses, skirts, and pants - styled and organized in co-ordinating groups. The fabrics range from wools, cottons to synthetics and blends, and sourced from a variety of international suppliers, including the U. S. The product is priced from mid-to-low end - i. e. approximate retail - Jackets $100 - $125: Pants $50 - $60: Skirts $65, and targets the smaller stores specializing in the mass market consumer. The line is sold under the SPO' label by a number of agents located in strategic market areas across North America, including - Quebec, Ontario, Chicago, Dallas, the Carolina's, Minneapolis, and Minnesota. However, at present 75% of Canadian sales are Private Label accounts.
The seasonal collections are available in a variety of fabrics and under the stores own label. It is SPO'Ms intention to develop this side of the market and in particular focus on developing Private Label accounts with Canadian customers.
