Perkins & Associates (P&A) is a multi award winning Manitoba Production Studio and Advertising Agency which, for 19 years has been the producers of live-action film & video, 2D & 3D computer animation/graphics, visual effects, computer simulations, classical animation and multimedia presentations. We have extensive experience in the creative and production of TV & Radio commercials; print design; corporate, educational, music, training & marketing videos; conference and tradeshow presentations; computer simulations and projects involving extensive visual effects (ie MOW's, episodicals, theatrical releases etc.), as well as Media planning and placement. In 1969, as Kenn Perkins Animation, we began with classical animation producing commercials and the Canadian content for Sesame Street and training & launching the careers of Academy Award nominees Cordell Barker and Chris Hinton. During the 70's, as a natural progression, we ventured into film and video production and were the first and only Manitoba production house to install motion control (robotic controlled 16/35mm motion picture filming). In fact, P&A is responsible for many firsts in Manitoba. In 1984 we introduced Manitoba to computer animation & graphics, progressing to hi-end in 1989 and becoming the 6th user of SoftImage in the world (before Disney and ILM discovered it!).
During the nineties, P&A became a full service Advertising Agency and has naturally entered the multimedia realm, producing CD Rom presentations and Web sites. P&A is now gearing up for DVD presentations and whatever else the technologies of the new millennium will bring.

P&A operates seven Silicon Graphics (SGI) high end workstations, running SoftImage 3D Extreme FX, Eddie digital compositing and several other 3rd party software packages including Toonz digital ink & paint software for Traditional animation. For graphics design and multimedia, P&A runs current versions of all standard MacIntosh desktop publishing software programs including Freehand, Photoshop, Pagemill, Illustrator, Quark, Painter, Director etc. For editing purposes, P&A runs the current version of Media 100 XS non-linear digital off/on-line editing system.
