Community Expressions

Community Expressions is a consulting firm specializing in providing community-based planning services to Aboriginal communities and organizations.

The principal of Community Expressions is Maria Gatti. She is a community involvement and planning professional who holds a Master of Arts from the University of British Columbia, School of Community and Regional Planning. Maria's career has involved planning and project management assignments with Aboriginal communities and advisory committees, municipal governments, and a major Canadian law firm.

Community Expressions works in association with Community Voices and its principal Mildred MacKenzie. Ms. MacKenzie is a member of the St'at'imc Nation and former Director/Planner for the T'it'q'et community. She has extensive experience in developing culturally relevant educational approaches, participatory processes, and organizational structures that provide community members with the skills, opportunities, and voice to play an active role in the planning and development of their communities.

Community Expressions and Community Voices work with Aboriginal communities and organizations to facilitate the development of a VISION, PLAN and the ACTIONS needed to achieve a community-owned plan. Our community consultation, planning and change management services are unique because of our strong philosophical commitments to capacity building and traditional knowledge and experience.
