Founded in 1992 as a one person consulting firm, the Company now employees over 70 full time staff and is housed in a specially designed 31, 000 sq. ft. facility located in the west end of Canadas capital, Ottawa.
The cornerstone of the company is its focused, energetic team of semiconductor technology specialists. This team whose roots trace back to the early days of the microchip uses sophisticated lab facilities and a rich library of in-house semiconductor data to conduct high value analyses of a wide selection of chip types. Chipworks develops high value, meticulously researched, on time reports presented in a format that is easy to read, easy to understand, and tailored to customer needs.
Chipworks customers include major semiconductor manufacturers and users worldwide. More than 95% of Chipworks business supports semiconductor manufacturers outside of Canada.
Our presence is also represented to the Asian market through our Japanese representative located in Tokyo, our Taiwanese representative located in Taipei, and our European representative located in Brussels, Belgium.
In 2000 Chipworks was ranked in the Next 100 of PROFIT 100 Canadas Fastest-Growing Companies by PROFIT magazine. Chipworks was also classified as one of Canadas top 50 fastest growing technology companies by Deloitte & Touche in 1999. In 1998 Chipworks received the Gold Award for Exporter of the Year from the Ottawa-Carleton Board of Trade, as well as the Ontario Global Traders Award of Merit for Leadership.
