Central Biotech Inc. are involved in the acquisition, production and marketing of biotechnology products, with a main focus on the development of non-chemical animal health products. Some of the products which we are interested in pursuing are vaccines, feed additives and enzymes. We are currently working on projects with scientists, university technology transfer specialists and government researchers from around the world - one of our flagship projects is the commercialization of a natural vaccine for the control of warble flies in cattle, through a collaborative venture with Agriculture Canada's Lethbridge Research Centre.

PROTECTION OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

In obtaining technologies at various stages of the development and commercialization, we work directly with an intellectual property law firm who have on staff specialists in the world-wide protection of pharmaceuticals and biotechnologist. In addition to enabling us to keep control of intellectual property rights acquired or maintained by us through our working arrangements, we are also able to assist those members of the corporate or scientific communities who are in need of such assistance in the protection or regulatory approval of their own products, and we are pleased to make such referrals.

GEOGRAPHIC MARKETING PRIORITIES/MARKETING STRATEGY

As indicated above, we are in the business of identifying biotechnology transfer opportunities primarily in the area of animal health products. Our geographical priorities have been in North America and France to date, but we welcome the opportunity to communicate with potential business partners from anywhere in the world. Through our business arrangements with Inland Marketing and the Alberta Research Council we are able to concentrate on the identification of viable commercialization opportunities and coordinate on the transfer process. By structuring our affairs in the manner which we have we enable ourselves to concentrate on the location of the technologies while at the same time offering our venture partners access to expertise in the areas of intellectual property protection, manufacturing and distribution. In this way we are able to offer to our clients and associates a complete technology commercialization organizations, promising quick turnaround times to market, with expertise at every step of the way. • Fermentation Production Capabilities

  Through a cooperative arrangement with the Alberta Research Council, we are able to offer access to its state-of-the-art fermentation facility located in Edmonton, Alberta. Along with the ability to offer a full scale-up and pilot process we also offer commercial scale production in the ARC plant, which features fully documented fermentation capacities of up to 15, 000 litres. In addition, by working in conjunction with ARC, high-density recombinant yeast and bacterial cultures can be developed and product expression systems can be quickly and efficiently optimized.

  Through another business partnership with Inland Marketing Inc., also of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, we are able to arrange for the distribution and marketing of products on behalf of ourselves and others through a wide network of distributors throughout the world. Of particular importance to us is the strength of the Inland distribution team in the major livestock integrator stream in the United States. Also, through Inland Marketing we are able to perform statistical market studies for potential products.
