Incorporated in 1981 CEMAR ELECTRO INC. came into being to fill a specific need for small, economic and reliable low powered lasers, and related electronics. Originally the goal of the company was to supply lasers and related electronics to sawmills and textile industry. Technological advances have permitted CEMAR ELECTRO INC. to grow rapidly into a leader in this field and to solve problems for many small laser applications.
Under the trade name of LOOM LASER, CEMAR ELECTRO INC. has developed the first helium/neon laser thread break detection system in 1986 of which most of them are still in service. Five years later, with the advent of the solid state laser diodes, a truly vibration proof system was engineered and commissioned for North American and Foreign patents.
