Flakers
Disc Block Flaker The Disk Flakers have been designed to precisely cut wood into a broad range of specific thickness, length and width. This makes the flaker versatile in the preparation of flakes for structural orented strand board (OSB) panels and for the particleboard industry, using a broad range of grades and species of roundwood. Disc Block Flaker Disc Block Flakers produce flakes or strands of uniform thickness adjustable up to .060' (1.5mm). Logs are cut to a nominal 34' (863mm) length and are fed with the grain parallel to the disc. Flake length along the fibre is easily changed by using different knife serrations or scoring knife location. Flake width is determined by controlling geometry through the flaking pocket. The unique patented feature of the Long Log Flaker is based on the cutting knives extending to the peripheral of the disc, allowing the disc to advance through the batch of logs during flaking. The raw material, either in the form of random length round wood, or by-product, is transported by a parallel infeed conveyor into a cutting chamber. After entering the cutting chamber, the wood is clamped and the flaker, which is carriage mounted, extends and accurately flakes the wood within the cutting chamber. It then automatically returns and the sequence repeats itself. During each cycle, 37' (940mm)wood length is cut. Target Industries

Ring Strander
With the increasing demand for engineered wood products requiring long strands, we offer the 28/81 Strander. The positive knife clamping design of the Strander combined with the proven electronic feedworks software for carriage motion, ensures exact control over strand thickness. As mills cannot allow downtime for ring repair, are innovative thinking has led to the patented design of the cutting ring removal system. This unique system will allow the complete cutting ring to be removed and reinstalled in an 8-hour shutdown period.

King Debarker
King Debarker Debarks straight, crooked, knotty, dry or frozen logs Diameter 2' and up/length 24' and up Handles all of the above - simultaneously Over 140 units in operation The debarker utilizes a combination of cylindrical rotors complete with surface mounted debarking plates to easily remove bark. Bark removal is achieved with a rocking, rolling impact of the logs on the plates, which abrades the bark from the logs with a minimal amount of damage or waste. The result is a cleanly debarked log in excellent condition for chipping, flaking and stranding. The King debarker has a rotor on which specially shaped barking plates are arranged to rock the loaded logs as the rotor turns. The resultant abrasion during the rocking and shock as logs strike the blade edges is repeated continually as the logs are fed toward the barker outlet. The King debarker can be adjusted according to species, size and whether the logs are dry or frozen. Remote operator controls allow stepless rotor rotation speeds and regulates the outlet gate to control the amount of time the logs are in the barker to prevent over or under debarking. Each log is subjected to a rocking, rolling and overall rotation action for the most effective and uniform debarking.
