The CSCE is a learned society. Its objective is to advance professional knowledge and the practice of civil engineering, and its role is to disseminate information about the practice of the profession and to facilitate R&D and promote civil engineering innovations. The CSCE provides national and international technical conferences, technical programs, workshops and seminars through its technical divisions and committees and 21 sections across Canada. It undertakes and facilitates programs and projects in Canada and abroad: training courses, guidelines and best practices, project management. The CSCE provides its services through access to the expertise of some 4, 000 members active in academic and teaching institutions, the private and public sectors and an extensive network of affiliations and partnerships in Canada and overseas.
