Canadian Health Technologies, a British Columbia based company, provides Radiation Protection Services and Professional Medical Physics Services to hospital-based and stand-alone medical imaging facilities.
The Radiation Protection Branch (RPB) of the British Columbia Ministry of Health has established a partnership program for Diagnostic X-ray Facility Protection, as part of the Diagnostic Accreditation Program (DAP). Under this program, owners/managers of all imaging facilities are ultimately responsible for radiation safety and image quality of their facilities.
Our Radiation Protection Services will help imaging facilities meet these provincial radiation protection requirements, federal radiation protection standards, the standards of the Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR), as well as WCB regulations without expensive in-house Professional Medical Physics support.
Our Radiation Protection services include annual radiation protection surveys for diagnostic radiology facilities (as required by the Diagnostic X-Ray Facility Protection Program), patient dose estimates and radiation shielding design services. Our clients have access to FREE consultation on radiation protection issues for educating staff and patients.
Our Medical Physics Services include acceptance testing and comprehensive quality control programs for radiology, including radiographic/fluoroscopic units, CT, MRI and mammography units. We also provide educational resources for continuing education and radiation safety training.
We have been heavily involved in the development of the new partnership program and are proud to be the very first company approved to provide radiation protection services to Diagnostic X-ray facilities in BC.
