CANTEST Ltd. is a full service analytical laboratory offering a broad spectrum of analytical services. In addition to providing superior, professional support in the air quality, environmental and industrial fields, CANTEST is often called upon by those in the areas of nutrition and biology as well as clinical and veterinary medicine. Since its incorporation in 1969, CANTEST has grown to become one of Canada's leading analytical laboratories. Originally started with a staff of five and two hundred square meters, the company now employs about 250 chemists and technicians and occupies ten times the laboratory space.

It should be noted that CANTEST Ltd. has clearly exhibited innovation with respect to methodology as the company was the first independent facility in Western Canada to employ Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS), Inductively coupled Argon and Plasma (ICAP) Spectroscopy, and Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS). In addition to the broad spectrum of test protocols offered at CANTEST Ltd., the company has significant amount of expertise pertaining to research and development in the arenas of biopharmaceutical (GLP), environmental, food and industrial chemistry.

  CANTEST offers a range of Industrial Hygiene services pertaining to the analysis of air (and other gases) for pollutant concentrations and ambient air quality. The laboratory can work in concert with consulting engineers to test air emissions and recommend methods for reducing the presence of compounds which affect climate change.

  As well as providing the services of a chemical testing, research and consulting laboratory, the company can also provide consulting services to international clients on the construction and operation of laboratories.
