CAMESE is a trade association made up of Canadian member companies offering products and services to the mining industry. It was established in 1981 for the purpose of assisting members in exporting their goods and services.
The associations 250 corporate members across the country supply the entire mining industry spectrum including mineral exploration, mine development, mining, mineral processing, environmental monitoring, smelting and refining.
The industry sector represented by CAMESE encompasses some 600 companies, each of which receives a substantial proportion of their revenues through the provision of goods and/or services to the mining industry. It is estimated that the creation of these goods and services adds between $1 and $2 billion annually to Canadas GNP, about 50% of which is exported.
The great strength of CAMESE is the members themselves. Most of these companies have been founded in Canada, initially to serve the Canadian mining industry, an important producer of mineral wealth. The Canadian mining industry is very demanding. As a result, the companies that serve it offer high value, advanced technology.

CAMESE provides its members with a cost-effective international marketing approach which is complementary to the marketing and selling efforts which any single company can undertake. Essentially, this is accomplished by uniting companies in the mining equipment and services sector to undertake mutually beneficial, common efforts which are supported by sectoral government funding. The great strength of CAMESE comes from our members themselves. Most of these companies were founded in Canada initially to serve the Canadian mining industry, which is an important producer of mineral wealth. The Canadian mining industry is very demanding. As a result, the companies that serve it offer high value and state-of-the-art technology.
