• High Production Presses

  Standard Design Features

  Four piece, keyed, construction comprising of massive oversize high tensile cast bridge, bed, slide and columns.

  High-grade alloy bronze bearings, saddle bushings and replaceable bronze wear plates are hand scraped for accuracy and maximum life.

  High carbon steel tie rods pre-stressed to a definite pre-load by hydraulic nuts and shims.

  Heat-treated carbon steel eccentric-shaft, ground to a micro finish.

  Trabon recirculating filtered oil lubrication system.

  Exceptionally long 8 point adjustable slideways to maintain alignment of slide over the full press stroke.

  Adjustable air counterbalance with automatic and flow monitored lubrication.

  Pneumatic combination clutch/brake unit eliminates overlap.

  High Production presses are available from 45 to 100-Ton capacity with speed up to 500 strokes per minute.

• Hydraulic Presses

  Brown Boggs standard heavy duty, Hydraulic Presses are designed to meet and satisfy the customers specific specifications. Through constant research and development, Brown Boggs has designed a superb hydraulic press using only the highest quality components in its construction.

  Brown Boggs Hydraulic presses are available in unitized Gap Frame design with guided platten and unitized or four piece, tie rod constructed Straight Side design with 8 point adjustable gibbing. All major weldments are stress relieved to ensure integrity of geometry after assembly.

  The fully programmable control systems, while displaying all parameters, provides control of velocity through the entire cycle, stroke length, and return stroke or force.

  The main hydraulic power unit is a self-contained system designed for the press. This unit contains a premium filtration system for long life, including pressure filtering of the main pump and an off-line filter/cooler designed to reduce the particulate contamination to a minimum level.

  The main cylinders are of heavy duty, mill type design and mounted via heavy-duty flange to the frame.

  Control of both rapid advance/return and pressing speeds of the main cylinders is accomplished through proportional valving remotely controlled via proportional electronics.

  A centralized lubrication system with flow monitoring is provided to shut down the press in the event of insufficient lubrication

• Open Back Presses

  Standard Design Features

  Exceptionally long slideways to maintain alignment of the slide over the full press stroke.

  Adjustable air counterbalance to offset the combined weight of the slide and heavy dies.

  Combination pneumatic clutch/brake unit eliminates overlap. (Optional on some models)

  Dual fail-safe clutch/brake solenoid valve with remote reset. Replaceable bronze ball socket.

  Recirculating automatic lubrication system. (Optional on some models)

  Tonnage capacities of Brown Boggs Open Back Gap presses range from 60 to 200 Tons with speeds up to 250 strokes per minute.

  High alloy, solid bronze, hand scraped, main and pitman bushings for closest fit, lowest wear and maximum life.

  Heat-treated carbon steel forged crankshaft, ground to a micro finish to ensure low wear characteristics.

  Oversized crankshaft bearing for extended life.

  Heat sensors in all main and pitman bearings. (To order only)

  Readily accessible lubrication control blocks with indicators to show blocked lines.

  Extra heavy bolster and frame design to ensure minimum deflection.

  Heavy, sectionalized, box type slide, running on bronze liners and cast gibs, tolerates off centre loading.

  Long slide adjustment screw provides a solid, well-guided, connection throughout the long adjustment range.
