ABOUT BRITANNIA STRATEGY MANAGEMENT INC.

Ian Leask has twenty-four year's experience as a planner and
marketer with senior management teams in mass-merchandizing-
retail, wholesale distribution, and primary forest products
manufacturing with privately held, publicly held, and crown
corporations. President of Britannia Strategy Management Inc.,
Ian, and his wife, Jane, launched their company in 1997, and
located it in a small fishing village 30 minutes from downtown
Vancouver, BC. They work together to provide a range of
services including Strategic Actioning, Custom Strategy Process
Design & Management, Scenario Integration, Strategy
Communication, Implementation & Co-ordination, Research, Capital
Project Analysis, and Group Facilitation. Clients range from
major forest products companies, to national and international
distributors, crown corporations, and industry associations.
Ian attained a Masters of Business Administration degree from
the Simon Fraser University, Executive Program in 1986, and has
completed advanced scenario development training with the world-
recognized leaders in scenario development.

- The BC Council of Value-Added Wood Processors: Developed an analysis of the effects of primary industry consolidation and proposed action plans, and facilitated strategic actions.
- The BC Export Marketing Coalition: (Includes all major solid wood trade associations in BC as well as government and union participation.) Worked with team to develop and implement the Canada Wood Marketing Initiative. This national strategic action will help to revitalize the Canadian solid wood industry by investing more than $ 100 million over 5 years to create new export markets. The project has resulted in application of an incremental $ 6.5 million in the short term toward new export market development for the British Columbia industry.
- The BC Wood Specialties Group: Twice worked with Board and Executive to develop and implement strategic action plans for the association.
- Canadian Kraft Paper Council: Facilitated the inaugural meeting and development of an association strategy.
- Canadian Mill Services Association: Conducted an integrated strategic action process resulting in implementation of new growth strategies.

- The Jobs and Timber Accord Jobs Advocate: Worked with team to develop a planning process and marketing strategy for industry competitiveness in the British Columbia Forest Strategy Review.
- Forest Renewal BC: Worked with value-added industry team to develop scenarios about the future of the Value Added Industry and the critical issues faced by industry. Facilitated development of a vision and business pro forma for a sales-and-marketing function to enhance small forest-based businesses. Led a broad community of stakeholders to create a coordinated province-wide secondary manufacturing strategy.
- BC Ministry of Forests: Facilitated Ministry/Industry Forum to develop Critical Issues, Objectives and Action Plans toward the implementation of culture change in support of the Forest and Range Preservation Act.
