Biophage Inc. is a privately held Montreal based biopharmaceutical company founded in 1995 that discovers and develops proprietary therapeutic products for the treatment of inflammation in humans and bacterial infections in livestock and humans. Biophage technology platforms are based on the unique properties of phages and antibodies

Biophage operates two divisions: (1) The R & D division and (2) The Contract Research Organization (CRO) division.

Biophage R & D division develops the Companys compounds with the objective of taking them to the market place or licensing them to Pharmaceutical companies once clear proof of concept has been established.

Biophage CRO division supports biotech and pharma companies in their early drug development by providing In vitro and In vivo development services in the fields of immunology, infectiology and oncology. Biophage provides assistance and support in developing customized screens and experimental models tailored to meet its clients specialized analytical requirements. The identity of clients and test results are handled under strict confidentiality. Our technical staff has extensive training and experience in:

• Drug discovery and early stage drug development;
• Molecular Biology services including mRNA protection assay, RT-

PCR, 2-Hybrid system,

• Custom antibody production, purification and antigenic

prediction;

• Immunoassay development (Elisa, RIA, etc);
• Immunology and Immunotoxicology including 3-color Flow

Cytometry, Cytokines, Effector cells evaluation

• Cell culture testing (mycoplasma and sterility testing);
• Phage display technologies and phage therapeutics
• Immune Modulators and Anti-infectives activity testing
• Development of mammalian and bacterial vectors

Efficacy tests including: (i) immunology and immunotoxicology;

(ii) in vitro and in vivo anti-tumor profiling using our panel of over 130 human and rodent cell lines; (iii) complete and integrated services of necropsy and histopathology; (iv) microbiological testing (bacteria, virus and fungi); and (v) pilot toxicological studies in rodents.
