Biomech Designs Ltd. offers a high accuracy muscle force evaluation tool specially designed for patients with limited motor function. The use of an electrically operated treatment table allows patients to transfer from a wheelchair at a low height and then be lifted to an acceptable height for evaluation.
The treatment table along with Zimmer orthopaedic framing, which offers a rigid support for the load cell, was designed to allow measurement of any extremity of the human body. The load cell along with the adjustable length cam lock measures loads as small as 1/8 pounds. Data is collected on the hard drive of floppy drive of a computer through the use of custom built software. Data can be viewed, printed or plotted. The system was designed in a demand for this type of evaluation tool as no other manufacture offered a custom built system for the task at hand.
