Beaulier Inc.
Beaulier Inc. is a consulting engineering firm specializing in design, trouble-shooting and training in industrial ventilation, dust control, pollution control and pneumatic conveyor systems for industrial use.
Beaulier Inc. was founded in 1978. Its staff is comprised of five professional engineers, two professional technicians and one administrative assistant. Four seniors have more than 15 years experience in the firm's specializations. Problem-solving in defectively-engineered air systems is their main strength. The firm has conducted engineering studies in the United States and wishes to expand anywhere in the world through alliances with other consulting engineering firms. Beaulier is able to communicate in English, French and in Spanish through it representative in Mexico City.
Beaulier Inc. is part of Le Groupe Novanix Inc., a larger consulting group specializing in the engineering of industrial plant services and processes, for projects up to $50 million.

Dispersion And Dilution Stack.
Styrene has a very low olfactory threshold compared to the concentration acceptable for atmospheric air quality. Neighbours to the plant will object to its odour even though the concentration level is legally acceptable. Using a high stack will disperse and dilute the odorous emissions. The effectiveness or the dilution factor increases linearly with the height of the stack, but the construction cost of the stack increases exponentially with its height.
The optimal height or the least costly effective solution is obtained by utilizing computer simulation using mathematical models, taking into account the stack plume dispersion, the historical data on wind speed and direction, the geographic location of neighbours downwind from the stack and the knowledge of the olfactory threshold of the emitted odorous pollutant. Increased abatement using a pollution control device can be integrated into the computer simulation in order to further refine the solution, and to minimize total fixed and operating costs.
Re-engineering Of Vapour Control System On Pickling Lines.
Bright finish wire is stored and delivered without corrosion protection such as oil or plating. After plating (ie chrome plating) it is used to produce wire goods such as store caddies. The contact of bright finish wire with HCL vapours in light concentration, even for a brief period of time, will initiate the corrosion process of unprotected iron and many steel alloys. The HCL vapours are produced in the pickling bath on the galvanizing line. A wire plant manufacturing both the galvanized wire and the bright finish wire will be prone to accidental corrosion of the bright finish product, which can have a disastrous effect on the quality of the final product. The solution to this problem is a combination of a well-designed ventilation system with a wet scrubber and a dispersion stack which will remove all possibility of HCL contamination of the ambient plant air.
The HCL vapours emitted from the pickling bath must be captured at the source. The captured vapours are passed through a wet scrubber before being exhausted to the atmosphere from a stack. The difficulty lies in the efficient capture of the vapours. A properly designed overhead hood combined with efficient lateral air curtains to compensate for lateral air drafts will solve this difficulty. Very high efficiency of HCL abatement with a wet scrubber is relatively easy and the height of the dilution stack only needs to be such that exhaust re-entry is precluded at critical wind speed.
Reduce The Filter Cake Operating Thickness To Improve Operating Conditions Of The Baghouse.
n low and medium pressure pneumatic conveyors, the material is conveyed from a supply or store bin to a receiving or process bin. The receiving bin needs to be vented to the atmosphere to exhaust the conveyed air. The vented air passes through a filter, usually a baghouse. The bags in the baghouse may fail, rip open and some of the conveyed material will then be released to the ambient air; with coke powder this is unacceptable. To prevent accidental spills of the coke powder, the outlet of the baghouse is ducted to a second filter installed in series. This second filter is used as a baghouse integrity monitor and a safety device. The safety filter has a high filtration efficiency and a low holding capacity. It is equipped with a pressure measuring device to monitor for air pressure drops. Failure of the baghouse will allow large amounts of coke powder through and the downwind safety filter reacts by increasing air pressure. Normally with good preventative maintenance the baghouse safety filters only need infrequent replacement.
In some cases, though, the frequent plugging of the safety filter can indicate a problem with baghouse design and/or operation. Beaulier Inc. can perform detailed analysis to determine the type of corrective action required.
Analysis shows that the operating filter cake is sometimes too thick, causing an excessively high bag differential pressure resulting in premature failure of the bags. Bags made of conventional material may only last about 6 weeks, and costly membrane bags may last about 6 months but become porous after one month, causing the rapid plugging of safety filters and leading to high replacement expenses.
Consulting services provided by Beaulier Inc. can lead to an increase in the service life of conventional cloth bags, eliminating the need to use expensive membrane bags and costly frequent replacement of the safety after-filter.
